Wasteland Transformed
How a community garden in South Liverpool
has become a valued hub for local people, by
improving wellbeing, providing training
opportunities and bringing people together.
Mark is a regular volunteer at Grozone, a
community garden providing horticultural
therapy for people in Northwich, Cheshire.
For the last 10 years a community-led, lottery
funded programme has empowered local
people, with support from Groundwork, to
create a better place to live and work.
When Abi moved to Grange Park in Blackpool
she says that the support and sense of
community provided by @TheGrange really
helped her to settle in and was like no place
she’d ever known.
A young man from Cameroon says that the
Prince’s Trust (now King’s Trust) Team
Programme, run by Groundwork helped him
make a great start to his new life in the UK.
An unloved area of wasteland at a school
in Northwich has been transformed into a
magical new outdoor classroom and
playground where pupils can learn, play
and enjoy spending time in nature.
